Experience Namibia on a 23-day premium self-drive journey through the country’s most remarkable landscapes. This route combines the red dunes of the Kalahari, the private wilderness of Wolwedans, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland, the Skeleton Coast, Kaokoland and Etosha.
Travelling with a luxury Toyota Land Cruiser SUV, this itinerary is designed for guests who want independence on the road, but comfort, exceptional locations, and carefully selected lodges throughout the journey.

After arriving at Windhoek Airport, you collect your luxury SUV and make your way to your hotel in Windhoek. Namibia’s capital is a relaxed starting point for the journey and offers a mix of German colonial history, modern cafés and local restaurants.

Leaving Windhoek behind, you travel south into the Kalahari region. Red sand dunes, dry riverbeds and open savannah landscapes create a completely different atmosphere from central Namibia. The area is ideal for nature drives, sunset walks and experiencing Namibia’s quieter side before heading deeper into the desert.

Continue to Wolwedans, one of Namibia’s most iconic private wilderness areas. The reserve is known for its vast desert landscapes, soft dune scenery and exceptional sense of space. Your stay includes guided activities, allowing you to experience the NamibRand without rushing.

Travel onwards towards Sossusvlei, one of Namibia’s most recognisable landscapes. From Little Kulala, you are perfectly placed to visit the dunes, Deadvlei and the surrounding desert. The stay combines comfort, excellent access and guided desert experiences.

From the desert, you continue to the Atlantic coast and the town of Swakopmund. This is a good place to slow down, enjoy restaurants, explore the coast and add optional activities such as a catamaran cruise, scenic flight, sandboarding or a desert tour.

Today you travel inland to Spitzkoppe, one of Namibia’s most striking natural landmarks. The granite peaks, open desert views and sunset colours make this a beautiful one-night stop between the coast and Damaraland.

Continue into Damaraland, a region known for dramatic rock formations, desert-adapted wildlife and ancient landscapes. Your stay includes full board and activities, giving you time to explore the area without needing to organise everything yourself.

The journey continues to one of Namibia’s most remote and atmospheric regions. Shipwreck Lodge offers a rare chance to stay deep in the Skeleton Coast landscape, where dunes meet the Atlantic and the scenery feels wild, raw and completely different from the rest of the trip.

Travel inland towards the remote landscapes of Kaokoland. Hoanib Valley Lodge offers a beautiful base to experience desert-adapted wildlife, local culture and one of Namibia’s most untouched wilderness regions.

Continue towards Etosha and the private Ongava Game Reserve. This is one of Namibia’s best safari areas, combining private reserve activities with excellent access to Etosha National Park.

Your final safari stop brings you to Otjiwa, one of Namibia’s oldest private game reserves. It is a relaxed way to ease out of the wilderness before returning to Windhoek.

After breakfast, you drive to Windhoek Airport where you return your rental vehicle before continuing with your onward flight or journey home.
If you would like to explore even more of Namibia, this journey can easily be extended with additional nights in the Caprivi Strip, along the Orange River or at one of Namibia’s exclusive private safari reserves. Victoria Falls, Botswana or Cape Town also combine well with this route for a longer Southern Africa journey.
